We are primarily a general practice led menopause clinic passionate about helping women navigate the transition through perimenopause to menopause and beyond.

As GP’s, we practice up to date and evidence-based medicine tailored to the individual patient. Whether your arrival at menopause is natural or abrupt post-surgery or chemotherapy, we are here to help alleviate your symptoms.

Hera is for all women.

You do not need a referral to see us as GPs
at Hera - you can book directly.

We will send out a comprehensive form which needs to be completed and returned (preferably electronically) prior to your appointment. We know the world does not need more forms, but this will enable your doctor to get a full picture of your current health status.

An extended 40+ minute initial consult (preferably in- clinic) is required to understand your current symptoms, other medical conditions and personal risk profile. Having time to sit down and tease out what matters to you is our priority. Choosing a specific treatment plan depends on your individual characteristics and needs specialist guidance and a listening ear. Treatments might involve hormone replacement therapy or non- hormonal menopausal therapy as well as general lifestyle advice.

Timely follow up is important in order to ensure you are on the correct doses of HRT or other medication and not experiencing unwanted side effects. This is an ongoing journey from midlife onwards and women need someone who has knowledge, experience, and empathy in managing menopause.

Whist we love to talk about all things menopause here at Hera .. it’s not all that we do!

We can also help with:

• Menstrual Disorders

• Endometriosis

• PCOS

• PMS/PMDD

• Vulval Disorders

• Genitourinary issues

• All types of contraception

• Planning for conception

• Weight and lifestyle management associated
with women’s health issues

Preventative health is also high on our agenda at Hera and our team offers cervical screening as well as breast and bone health checks. Each woman is entirely unique, and we know there is no one size fits all approach. Our aim is to get your overall health back on track by being your navigator whether you need further specialist, allied health referrals or someone simply to advocate for you.

What we aren’t:

Unfortunately, we are unable to be your main GP at Hera - we are simply not equipped to do this! If you are seeking advice regarding other health issues (for e.g. vaccinations, injuries, viral illnesses, care plans etc) other than to do with women’s health, we ask that you see your regular GP. Emergency presentations, including those which are gynaecological/women’s related problems should present to urgent care clinics or your local emergency department.

At Hera we want to work collaboratively with your own GP, so you have the best all round care possible. Your main GP is the coordinator of your overall health hence timely communication from all clinicians involved in your care is paramount. With your permission, we will also liase with other health professionals in your team to ensure everyone is aware of treatments initiated and that all are aligned with your individual health goals.

Currently, Hera only has the resources to service those patients based in Western Australia. (We hope this might change one day!)

Hera is here for you.
